My Father.

A Short-In No Way Complete-List of Reasons Why I Have The Best Daddy of Life (in no specific order.)
in honor of Father's Day 2011. *slightly belated*
>listening to: the beatles- michelle<

-His nicknames for me: Michelle, Chelly and Mouse.
-His love for The Beatles and John Lennon is parallel to mine. He raised me on classic rock 'n roll; I have him to thank for my musical tastes.
-His love for our dogs/his grandchildren.
-A day doesn't go by that I don't get to spend time with him.
-He appreciates nature and simple beauty in the world, like hummingbirds, preying mantis, Bleeding Hearts and sunsets.
-How he would move to Shanty Town, Oahu USA with me at the drop of a hat.
-How rare it is for him to drink and how silly he is when he's had a few.
-How open-minded and tolerant he is for all of mankind.
-He says the best day of his life was the day I was born.
-He would never tell someone- anyone- 'no' when they ask for his help.
-He knows how to fix anything. Seriously, anything.
-His statement every time I walk out the door, "Be careful" is loaded. Those two words speak volumes between the two of us.
-The way he doesn't hesitate- and hasn't ever hesitated- to pick my drunk or stranded ass up at any hour of the day or night, wherever I may be. He is my savior.
-The way he was thinking about how much he was going to love me before I was even born.
-His unconditional support in everything I've ever done or will ever do.
-The fact that he loves his wife, daughter and son even if we are a bit crazy, difficult and unconventional. He is our voice of reason.
-How excited he gets to show me silly videos or photos he has found online.
-His logic.
-His laid-back "Give Peace a Chance" attitude balances my mother's "Don't take shit from anyone" attitude perfectly.
-How he hugs me when I'm upset and tells me everything will be okay./He hates seeing me cry.
-His stories about when he was my age.
-He tries to act like he doesn't spoil me- and hasn't spoiled me- my entire life. He has.
-Our many past and upcoming concerts together.
-He takes responsibility for all things having to do with my car.
-He secretly appreciates his kids' tattoos.
-He comes home from work almost every day with a different song stuck in his head. I love hearing his renditions of classic Elton John, Animals, Supertramp and Billy Joel songs. My favorite is when he sings, "Meeechellll, ma belllle. These are words that go together well. My Meeechell." <3
-He let us dress him up as Hunter S. Thompson for Halloween one year and he attended my crazy keg party. He pointed out that someone was trying to bring in their own keg cups. I stopped them dead in their tracks.
-His ethics and morals.
-His manners- how polite and patient he is.
-He is always concerned for my safety and well-being.
-When he yelled, "IT'S MY MONEY AND I WANT IT NOW!" out of the window at JW Marriott San Francisco Downtown.
-His silly sense of humor.
-When he, Mikey and I smoked a joint on a pier in Lake Tahoe in the middle of the night. He gets hella munchies. : )
-He gave me a wonderful childhood, he was there through my teenage angst and has loved me unconditionally through my early adulthood.
-He is so hardworking.
-His adorable behavior around his siblings and their families.
-When I was ready to move away from home, he bought me a house to rent with my friends. (And then let me move home when I was ready to come back.)
*He has been and always will be the Best father a girl could ask for.

Happy Father's Day, Dad. Thank you for everything. I love you!
