every little thing's gonna be alright.

>listening to: the beatles- i've just seen a face<

If I sat idly around waiting for the sun, I would never hike again so I have been going- rain or shine. I used to hate trudging over the muddy trails but I do consider it entertaining now. Oviously, though, I prefer the sunshine on my face.
My baby girl Zoe Coyote has been joining me on my daily hikes lately. She has grown into such a good dog- she is perfect on her leash; she heels and never tugs, even when there is
a new dog friend she wants to meet. Her mischief is evident (especially in her crazy eye!) but not disobedient. She has definitely come a long way from the lazy, not-so-little pup that was born in a barn in Idaho and of whom I was convinced was mentally handicapped.

On a recent drizzly hike, she led me off of the trail and into the long grass. The blades were cold and slick aganist my bare legs, but instead of scolding her for veering off of the beaten path, I followed her over a fallen tree and through the underbrush until we were on a completely hidden trail I had never seen before. It was unexpectedly vigorous, but pleasant nonetheless. Especially when we reached the end.
Sometimes you can forget the beauty in the world until you are sitting on top of it.

And sometimes you forget that every little thing is gonna be alright until you're singing it at the top of your lungs, high above this salty city, splashing in the mud with your crazy, wild eyed, two-toed best friend.

and then you believe it.
